The Life of David Bible Study

This inductive* Bible study examines the life of David, Israel’s second king, and his relationship with God.  Study God’s nature as it is revealed through Old Testament Scriptures that focus on who David was, how David served God, as well as how he sinned against God.  Why was David called “a man after God’s own heart”?  How did David respond to his trials, his tragedies, and his triumphs?  Studying David’s life will inspire you and encourage you in your own commitment to God, as you seek to find the relevance of God’s word.

Each lesson offers a time of reflection in the Psalms that relate to events in David’s life, to help you see the source of his inspiration, and provide you with a time of daily worship.  There are options for participating in the study, as the lessons allow the student to spend one hour per week or more if your schedule would allow, by also looking at other Scriptures that relate to the theme of the lesson.  Class time will include a discussion to review the week’s lesson and connect with other women in the body of Christ in biblical fellowship.

*Inductive study uses the Bible as the primary source of information and includes four steps:

 1st  - Observing the Bible text by answering foundational questions;
 2nd - Interpreting Scriptures through careful and accurate in-depth study;
 3rd  - Determining the eternal principles from the biblical text;
 4th -  Applying the truths of God’s word to the circumstances of your life.

The class meets Thursdays, 12 noon to 1:15 beginning September 10, 2009. (There are “breaks” for holidays in the school schedule.)
