Leaders' Guide
Sunergos Bible Studies are in-depth, inductive studies that focus on the Word of God.
There are several ways to lead and organize a Bible Study group using Sunergos' Bible studies.
Leading a group is exciting and rewarding.
As you lead you can increase the students confidence in analyzing the Bible and help them apply the truths to their lives.
Weekly Study - The students study the Bible text in-depth before each meeting answering the questions
and deepening their understanding in the four stages of analysis:
- Observation: seeing what the Bible text says.
- Interpretation: understanding what the text means.
- Principilization: discovering
eternal principles.
- Application: finding ways to apply the principles
Class Discussion - In class, students share what they learned during the week.
You, the discussion leader, can assist student participation by preparing questions and answers,
have students share related testimonies, discuss keywords, and paraphrase important texts of ideas.
The use of a visual aid, such as making a chart or a list related to the discussion as you discuss is extremely helpful.
A whiteboard with colored markers can and should be used in your discussion time to record the information they provide
you as you complete the chart or the list based on their answers.
The chart will be a good summary of each lesson and this will help them to remember what was discussed and covered in the class.
Lecture - Depending on time, you may want to include a lecture option. I have invited several of our pastors, church elders, and others to provide a 20 minute lecture on the passage or subject that was discussed during the class.
The guidelines on Inductive Study Methodology are good to use as a guide. They are included in each Bible Study's appendix and should be used to reinforce the inductive method of Bible study.
Leaders' Guides are available for all studies. The Leaders' Guides contain
general information such as discussion guidelines, and the use of visual aids. Also there are suggested discussion helps and suggested visual aids
(see sample)
for each lesson for use during the discussion.
