This inductive Bible study explores a sampling of prayers in the Old and New Testaments to see how the Bible teaches and and provides models for prayer. The in-depth thirteen week study examines the nature and character of God, Christ Jesus, and the Holy Spirit through the study of the prayers of Moses, Job, Hannah, David, Solomon, Old Testament prophets, Christ Jesus, and the apostle Paul.
The lessons examine the specific circumstances of these prayers, the life of the individual who prayed, the theme of their prayer, and their attitude toward God before and after praying.
The lessons also look at the way God answered prayers and any hindrances that may have come in the way. Many practical application questions are considered so that students are challenged to grow stronger in their faith and in their walk with the Lord through the spiritual discipline of prayer, as the study also offers a reflection in Scripture to provide a time of worship as a conclusion to the daily study.
