Women of the Word
Even though they lived centuries ago, we can learn from individual women in the Bible and their lives can have significance for us today. In this topical inductive study we will be reflecting on the relevance of the Word of God as we study a number of different Old and New Testament “Women of the Word” using the Bible as our text. Each lesson will include: the historical, cultural, and geographical setting of the women’s lives, her relationship with God and others, what is revealed about her character, and what is revealed about God's character. Each lesson will challenge with personal application questions for our own lives. This inductive study will use the Bible as the primary source of information and includes four dimensions: observation of the text to carefully and accurately interpret the Scriptures, while looking for eternal principles in the text to help you apply the Scriptures to the circumstances of your own life. The classes will meet September 15 through December 8 and then January 5 through May 4. (Class does not meet the week of Thanksgiving, for a month at the end of the year, on Monday federal holidays, and the week after Easter.)
