What does the Bible say is involved in worship for those who are followers of Christ Jesus? How does New Testament teaching on worship relate to the teaching on worship that is found in the Old Testament? These and many other questions will be addressed in this in-depth inductive Bible study on worship.
Included in this study are passages from Genesis to Revelation with extensive references focusing on what we learn in the Psalms about worship. The study challenges students to understand what is to be the “right response” to one’s God and Savior.
The study does not give a definition of worship, but encourages students to record what they learn about worship from Scripture, journal their response to this biblical teaching, and incorporate biblical truths into their worship of the Triune God.
Each week the lessons focus on different qualities of the godhead as Scripture presents the character of God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit and challenges one as to how these truths are to impact one’s pattern of worship.
Because this is an inductive study, it carefully observes the texts of Scripture, interprets the original intent of the passage, and challenges the student to claim the eternal principles that are to be applied for all those who follow Jesus Christ.
Suggested Study Format: The study provides a number of options for completing the lessons. The student could complete the observation questions followed by application questions, or complete the remainder of the lesson for an in-depth study. Students could also study only some of the portions of the in-depth lesson beyond the observation questions. When a group is meeting weekly to discuss the lessons, each student will benefit from the review discussion suggested by possibilities in the accompanying leader’s guide.
